Authorized Mooney Service Center at Gastonia (KAKH)

AGL Aviation Services is an Authorized Mooney Service Center at Gastonia Municipal Airport (KAKH), about 12 miles west of Charlotte Douglas. Mooney owners in the Carolinas can fly in to Hangar 3-98 for inspections, authorized service and upgrades from a shop that works on M20s every week.

Mooney upgrades

Many of the upgrades we sell and install fit Mooneys well:

• EI engine monitors to watch cylinder head and exhaust gas temperatures and spot trends early.
• SureFly electronic ignition to replace one magneto.
• Beringer wheels and brakes, where an approved kit exists for your model.
• Dynon Authorized installs, including Dynon autopilots, on models covered by Dynon's approvals.

Pitot-static leak checks are done in the hangar. IFR certifications are coordinated through a certificated repair station.

Mooneys have their own systems and quirks: the retractable landing gear and its shock discs, the tubular steel cabin structure, the wet-wing fuel tanks and the flight control rigging. An authorized service center works with Mooney's service information and parts channels. That makes it easier to find the right part, follow the right procedure and keep the logbooks clean.
