PowerFlow Tuned Exhaust: Authorized Service at Gastonia (KAKH)

What a PowerFlow system is

Power Flow Systems makes tuned exhaust systems for many four-cylinder piston airplanes. A tuned exhaust replaces the stock exhaust with one designed to help the engine breathe out more efficiently. Owners usually choose it for better climb and cruise performance. Which systems are approved, and what each one does, depends on your aircraft and engine, so we start by confirming your airplane is eligible for a PowerFlow kit.

Installation

A PowerFlow installation means removing the existing exhaust, fitting the new system and its supports, and checking clearances, heat shielding and the cabin heat and carburetor heat connections where applicable. Then comes a ground run and a check for leaks. The paperwork is completed for your logbooks.

Service on existing systems

PowerFlow systems need inspecting like any exhaust: cracks, leaks, slip joints and supports. If you already have a PowerFlow system, we can inspect it, find and fix problems, and replace parts through PowerFlow.

Good times to do it

Exhaust work is often easiest to schedule alongside an inspection, when the cowling is already off. Mooney owners can combine it with a Mooney annual where a PowerFlow kit is approved for their model. Some owners pair it with an EI engine monitor so they can see how the engine behaves after the change.
